The Whole World in Your Hand: Active and Interactive Segmentation

چکیده
Object segmentation is a fundamental problem in computer vision and a powerful resource for development. This paper presents three embodied approaches to the visual segmentation of objects. Each approach to segmentation is aided by the presence of a hand or arm in the proximity of the object to be segmented. The first approach is suitable for a robotic system, where Figure 1: The platforms. the robot can use its arm to evoke object motion. The second method operates on a wearable system, viewing the world from a human's perspective, with instrumentation to help detect machines to visually perceive the extent of maand segment objects that are held in the wearer's nipulable objects. Furthermore, we show that the hand. The third method operates when observing object segmentations that result from these metha human teacher, locating periodic motion (finods can serve as a powerful foundation for the ger/arm/object waving or tapping) and using it development of more general object perception. as a seed for segmentation. The stochastic active contour scheme (STACS) is a well-known and frequently-used approach for segmentation of the endocardium boundary in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images. However, it suffers significant difficulties with image inhomogeneity due to using a region-based term based on the global Gaussian probability density functions of the innerouter regions of the active ...
متن کاملColor Reduction in Hand-drawn Persian Carpet Cartoons before Discretization using image segmentation and finding edgy regions
In this paper, we present a method for color reduction of Persian carpet cartoons that increases both speed and accuracy of editing. Carpet cartoons are in two categories: machine-printed and hand-drawn. Hand-drawn cartoons are divided into two groups: before and after discretization. The purpose of this study is color reduction of hand-drawn cartoons before discretization. The proposed algorit...

Some texts, especially mystical and literary, are so intricate and labyrinthine that can be interpreted differently. These various interpretations sometimes result from the interior aspect of the texts, based on semantical understanding, and sometimes arise from their exterior aspect, based on different ways of reading the texts. Accordingly, while in another article along with other interprete...
متن کاملInteractive Whole-Heart Segmentation in Congenital Heart Disease
We present an interactive algorithm to segment the heart chambers and epicardial surfaces, including the great vessel walls, in pediatric cardiac MRI of congenital heart disease. Accurate whole-heart segmentation is necessary to create patient-specific 3D heart models for surgical planning in the presence of complex heart defects. Anatomical variability due to congenital defects precludes fully...
متن کاملMacroeconomic Factors Affecting Happiness
Abstract This paper examines factors affecting happiness using panel data concerning 58 countries during 2003-2011. Happiness data come in the form of answers to questions such as "How happy are you as a whole in your life?" and the answers range from 1 to 5transformed to obtain a 1-10 scale. Macroeconomics data are from MIT and World Bank 2012 tables. Including 215 total pool observations indi...
